Ben B's Story

At 25, I found a lump on my right testicle after a week or so of an aching discomfort which developed into acute pain. Diagnosed with stage 1 teratoma I had surgery to remove my testicle and no further treatment.

Nearly 4 years later, I found a lump on my remaining testicle and was eventually operated on and diagnosed with stage 2 seminoma. Very rare to have two different types of cancer! As it had spread this time to my lymph nodes, I had 3 rounds of BEP chemotherapy which was successful. I have full testosterone replacement therapy now which has been an interesting journey and challenge.

I struggled a huge amount with my mental health through all of this and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I have found ways recover my mental health and manage this in a positive ongoing way.

They call me Benny No Nuts now...
